Students are back to school, the air is getting crisp, and pumpkin spice is making its seasonal comeback, which can only mean one thing ⁠— fall is right around the corner. Whether you’re looking to celebrate the seasonal festivities by trekking through a haunted house, picking apples, or conquering a corn maze, there is something for everyone to enjoy in Sinking Spings, PA!

Colebrookdale Railroad 

The vibrant orange, yellow, and red leaves that represent fall create a scenic backdrop to enjoy while aboard the Colebrookdale Railroad. The Colebrookdale Railroad offers nearly two-hour expeditions into the Secret Valley as well as themed excursions.

Satisfy your appetite on the Bountiful Harvest – Farm to Table Dinner excursion or take in the gorgeous sights while riding the Autumn Splendor Fall Foliage train. If you’re looking for an exciting ride with entertainment, the Zombie Hunter Train may interest you, or the Eerie Limited, which highlights stories of Boyertown as “one of the most haunted small towns in America.” You can even take a trip on the Brill Motorcar to a Pumpkin Patch experience at Frog Hollow Farm.

Shocktoberfest

Named as the #3 Best Extreme Haunted Attraction by USA Today, Shocktoberfest is not for the faint of heart. Take a tour with the Zombie Safari Company or the Prison of the Dead, among other attractions. Be warned, you may forget that the actors are only putting on a performance.

If all of the screams makes you work up an appetite, check out the Pulled Pork or Roast Beef Sandwich at Uncle Buck’s, Grilled Sticky Buns at the Cinnamon Roll Truck, Mac & Cheese at The Biggest Cheese, Fresh Cut Fries at Flava Fries, plus more!  Weaver’s Orchard

If you’re not up for the freight, and would rather welcome the fall season by picking your own apples, Weaver’s Orchard is the place to go. Whether you’re craving an apple pie, caramel apple, apple crisp, or homemade apple cider, you can’t go wrong with freshly picked produce.

Come late September through October for Weaver’s Orchard Family Fun Days, which will include a pumpkin patch, hayrides, barrel train, inflatable obstacle course, and much more! What design will you carve into your jack-o-lantern?

 

Mast Farms

Who knew that getting lost could be so much fun? Mast Farms is home to one of the largest corn mazes in eastern PA. In addition to the 12 acre corn mazes, you can experience a fun-filled fall day with Straw bale Mazes, Challenge Mazes, ziplines, pedal tractor tracks, and much more!

Celebrate Mast Farms’ “18th year of corny fun” with them this season. Opened Sept. 14 thru Nov 9, 2019on Fridays from 3 pm – 9pm and Saturdays from 9am – 9pm.
