Mobility is important. When people feel they are mobile and capable of accessing services around them, and going out and enjoying life. Toyota is committed to improving communities’ mobility solutions to improve lives in the United States and beyond so that they may reach their fullest potential.

As a part of that goal, the Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) is partnering with Babson College over two years to focus on increasing the number and quality of mobility solutions in local communities. The TMF contributing $2 million to the partnership so that issues that inhibit mobility can be identified and rectified.

It’s about more than simply coming up with one time solutions however. Any plans that are implemented as a result of this partnership aim to be sustainable. That way, the communities themselves will be able to continue to apply them.

Building on Babson’s ability to take ideas and continue to improve on them consistently, the TMF hopes to make some clear and direct changes to the future of mobility issues. Through the partnership, both Babson and TMF will engage with community leaders from both civil society and local government to come up with practical solutions to mobility issues that matter to them.

The partnership will begin in the fall of 2019. Interested local communities will be selected, and plans for implementation, assessment of needs, and problem framework development can be expected to get the ball rolling soon after. Keep an eye out for further developments and initiatives from Toyota, as it continues to improve lives all over the world!
